PANAJI: A team of students from Padré Conceicao College of Engineering (PCCE), Goa, clinched eighth position out of 100 teams from all over India, at ‘Toycathon 2021.’ The team comprising Aditi Chavan, Amey Chavan and Sulochana; was guided and mentored by PCCE faculty Komal Paroolkar.
The PCCE students tasted success with their design of an interesting yet economical board game named ‘Indipedia’, which involves players to answer questions related to Indian Ethos, Indian History and Epics, Vedic Culture and Ayurveda.
Research, Development and Consultancy Centre (RDCC) in association with Institution Innovation council (IIC) of Padré Conceicao College of Engineering, are proud of the team’s achievement, announced the Verna-based institution in its social media post adding that the event was organised by IIC team: Dr Niyan Marchon, Ms Razia , Mr Saish, Mr Flasio, Ms Sulana.
‘Toycathon’ has been conceived under the banner of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’ initiated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to challenge India’s innovative minds to conceptualise novel toy and games based on Indian history, culture, traditions and mythology. The purpose is to make India ‘Atmanirbhar’ in Toy Manufacturing and Digital game market. Toycathon 2021 is an inter-ministerial initiative organized by Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell with support from All India Council for Technical Education, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of MSME, Ministry of Textiles and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
