International Master Audi Ameya put up a scintillating performance to win the Ceske Budojevic Open A Chess Title, in Czech Republic.
In the tournament held between July 1 to July 9, 2023 – Ameya defeated Simunek Jakub Simon (CZE) , Svacina Petr (CZE), Borkovec Milan(CZE) , Hak David, Lutz Ruben (GER), Lajbl Jan(CZE), Zima Jan (CZE); drew with GM Valicka Petr (CZE) and IM Stefansson Vignir Vatnar (ISL).
Ameya had 7 wins and 2 draws to his name with a tally of 8 points out of possible 9 rounds as he remained undefeated. The second place went to IM Stefansson Vignir Vatnar while Briem Benedikt (ISL) finished third. In all, 103 players from 15 countries, took part; stated a press release by Goa Chess Ad-hoc Committee, which congratulated IM Ameya Audi on his victory.
