XAXTI RIDERS: TWO WOMEN AMONG 80 SUCCESSFUL CYCLISTS IN 200KM CHALLENGE

PANAJI: Eighty cyclists completed Goa’s toughest-ever 200-km Cycling Challenge recently, according to a press release by Xaxti Riders.

The South Goan cycling club also claims that it’s a record number and among these 80, there were two women. Xaxti-200 Cycling Challenge involved elevation of 2735 meters, equivalent to a third of the Mount Everest’s height of 8,848 metres.

Vinayak Gaonkar and Ramchandra Salunke were the fastest riders, reaching the Xaxti-200 Finish Point within 7:30 hours.

Two women cyclists, Limca Book of Records honour holder Dr Belinda Viegas-Mueller and Mohua Sen finished the challenge well within the stipulated time of 13:30 hours.
  
The real star of the day was young Vrushabh Shetkar of Quepem, who rode over 200 km and atop 2735 metres elevation in his single-speed Frog bicycle.

“We are truly proud of Vrushabh as he is part of the Xaxti Riders’ Talent Search Initiative,” added Nadkarni.
