Goa Multi Faculty College, Dharbandora, and St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa, won the men’s and women’s volleyball title respectively at Goa University’s Inter-Collegiate Championships 2022-23.
The varsity volleyball tournaments were held from 10th to 13th January, 2023 at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium, Goa University Campus, Taleigao Plateau.
In the women’s final, St. Xavier’s College defeated SSA Government College of Arts and Commerce, Pernem, 20-25, 25-23, 25-20 and 25-12.
In the men title-clash, Goa Multi Faculty College defeated SS Dempo College, Cujira, 18-25, 25-15, 25-12, 18-25 and won the deciding set 15-8.
Earlier in the men’s semis, Goa Multi Faculty College defeated V. P’s Mandre College, Mandre, 25-20, 26-24, 25-22. Dempo College beat Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Sanquelim 25-27, 25-19, 25-22, 25-14.
In the women’s semis, SSA Government College of Arts and Commerce overcame Carmel College Arts, Science and Commerce for Women, Nuvem, 25-16, 25-11 while St. Xavier’s got the better of Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College and Research Center, Assagao, 25-19, 10-25, 25-12.
In all 32 men’s and 22 women’s teams participated in the volleyball championships. Rama Dhawaskar, volleyball coach, was the chief guest and presented medals and trophies.

Goa Multi Faculty College – Aksahy Gaonkar, Sahil Malvade, Satyam Sawant, Prayag Sawant, Ashik Gaude, Abhimanyu Saini, Jesper Fernandes, Sanket Dessai, Prince Saini, Satish Zangli, Naman Gaonkar and Vedant Gaonkar.
