TOP GOAN SHUTTLERS TO FEATURE IN PANJIM BADMINTON CLUB’S ‘PRO BADMINTON LEAGUE 2020’

PANAJI:  Lydia Barreto, Tejan Fallary and  sub-junior talent Harsh Mane are some of the top Goan shuttlers alongside Floyd Araujo, Sunny Sawant, Karan Dhavaskar, Tanushree Shadani, Yasmin Sayed, Frederick Fernandes, Yash Desai, Anar Singbal and Sushil Nayak; featuring in the fast-approaching third edition of Pro Badminton League (PBL) team championship on December 19 and 20 at indoor stadium, Campal.

The PBL is organised by Panjim Badminton Club under the aegis of Goa Badminton Association and powered by Adidas Badminton, with prizes and trophies worth more than Rs 1 lakh on offer. In this exclusive doubles league,  140 players from various categories will be representing the 10 elite teams.  The format includes one senior icon player and a junior icon player in each team.

“While Covid 19 pandemic may have slowed down few plans and there is uncertainty over the conduct of Nationals, Goa Badminton Association and its affiliated clubs have set the shuttle moving by organising regular coaching camps and super exciting league tournaments this season to keep players in competitive shape. In the coming days, similar kinds of events are planned in Vasco, Ponda and Navelim  which will be a good exposure to our players and a colourful display of games to spectators.”
