PANAJI: A total of 36 cyclists including a woman, successfully completed TriGoa’s ‘State Borders’ 300km Brevets Randonneur Mondiaux (BRM) endurance cycle ride in the wee hours of Monday in the stipulated time limit of 20 hours.
Over in TriGoa’s Brevets Populaire 150km ride, 15 cyclists were successful as they completed the task within the stipulated 10 hours. Prakash Khatri (26) of Ponda completed the 150km ride in a very quick, 05:47 hours.
Adlin Mascarenhas of Camorlim was the only woman to complete the 300km ride. The 40-year-old mother of two, had achieved the target in 200km last time out and has the overall aim of clinching the SR title this season. Teenagers – Megan Fernandes of Saligao and Micha Fernandes of Aldona completed the 150km ride successfully.
The 300km BRM cycled to the state borders of Dodamarg, Mollem and Pollem before moving along the western coastline to Dabolim airport, Old Goa and back to Panaji before the 0200 hrs cut-off on Monday to qualify for a special medal from Audax Club Paris in France.
