PANAJI: Youth like Nitesh Borkar inspires hope. When one looks at what this 29-year-old Automobile Engineer has achieved since he turned an organic farmer in 2016, you are going to be pleasantly surprised.
Yellow watermelon to start with, gave him a big boost. And now with a successful crop of strawberries – the first in North Goa, Nitesh’s dream of specialising in ‘exotic’ crops has bloomed.
The most sensational aspect of his venture is that a small 250 square-metre hilly plot near his home at Neura, North Goa, has provided him with unlimited possibility. His keen interest in acquiring knowledge and his passion for farming, drives Nitesh to push his limits. The core member of Revolutionary Goans group, is also sharing his expertise and creating a farming community with integrated farming plans taking shape.
