The Government of Goa organised a celebration of International Womens Day in the form of ‘Swayampurna Utsav’ at Kala Academy.
Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant graced the occasion along with Union Minister of State, Shripad Naik; Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Shet Tanavade; Siolim MLA Delilah Lobo; South Goa ZP Suvarna Tendulkar and other dignitaries.
The Chief Minister pointed out that EDC Goa has extended loans to women at the rate of 2% interest. Rs.50 Crore revolving fund is given to SHGs in Goa. PM SVANidhi cheques were distributed to beneficiaries on the occasion.
A host of pro-women schemes are available in the state, including – Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, Ujjwala Yojana, Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, Swachha Bharat, Griha Aadhar among others.
